Resource Use Policy

Your reservation runs on shared hardware with everyone else's. Because of this OIT expects resource consumption to stay within normal limits and not disrupt or bottleneck other user's reservations. Should your reservation need more resources, consider some of OIT's private hosting resources as an alternative.

There is not a predefine limit on these resources, but if a reservation is consuming more RAM/CPU/storage/etc than most to the extent that it is impacting performance of the system OIT may enact intervention (terminate jobs, shut down VMs, etc) and ask you to desist. Repeat offenders who impact other user's because of excessive resource consumption will have their resources restricted to allow others to use the system.

Note: Student violations may be subject to additional conduct ramifications; please review the Student Conduct Policies for computing.
